SU SHS student among the delegates to the 14th ASEAN Schools Games

Ǹ Senior High School student-athleteKacie Gabrielle Tionkorepresented the Philippines in the14th ASEAN Schools Games (ASG)after her inclusion in the national delegation was approved by theDepartment of Education.

Tionko, aswimmer, was among the carefully selected student-athletes who competed in the regional sporting event held inBrunei DarussalamfromNovember 20 to 29, 2025. The Philippine contingent was formed through a collaboration between the Department of Education and thePhilippine Sports Commission.

Hosted by Brunei, the 14th ASG gathered student-athletes from across Southeast Asia to compete in events such as basketball, badminton, swimming, and wushu.Team Philippines finished fourth overall, earning43 medals11 gold, 10 silver, and 22 bronze.

Beyond competition, the ASEAN Schools Games serve as a platform for youth development, character-building, and cultural exchange. The 2025 edition carried the motto“Dream, Strive, Achieve,”embodied by the official mascotWira, highlighting the Games’ emphasis on sportsmanship and regional camaraderie.
