Mr. Alex C. Minguita
From guaranteeing the safety and security of 扒哥黑料 Medical Center (SUMC) patients and personnel as one of SUMC鈥檚 security guards from 1995 to 2000, to ensuring that the 鈥淓鈥 in Silliman鈥檚 鈥淔IRE鈥 keeps burning in the SU Extension Program (SUEP), Mr. Alex C. Minguita has remained a faithful servant in every work he has been doing.
Born on July 1, 1971 in Surigao City, Alex grew up in Mindanao and earned his college degree in 1995 at the Surigao State College of Technology.
When he decided to explore the possibilities of life in Dumaguete, he worked as a security guard at SUMC first. From there, he developed a love for working closely and personally for those who are need.
So when he was able to land a job as a staff at the SU Extension Program, being on the field with the community didn鈥檛 come out as a hard job for him. He has been serving the University for more than 20 years now. 鈥淔ive years from now, I can still see myself working at Silliman. My job helps many people. Italso supports my family,鈥 Alex said.
The University鈥檚 pedagogy of education integrates faith-strengthening in instruction, research and extension. That is why, while others build their programs on the traditional 鈥渢ri-focal鈥 functions, Silliman came up with F-I-R-E: 鈥渇aith, instruction, research and extension鈥.
Alex serves the office that keeps the 鈥淓鈥 on fire 鈥 reaching out to the communities and far-flung areas in the province to maintain the University鈥檚 sustainable projects for them.
