
UBCHEA President Makes First Visit to Silliman
The president of the United Board for Christian Higher Education in Asia () will be visiting °Ç¸çºÚÁÏ for the first time on November 10.
Dr. Nancy E. Chapman will be welcomed by the Silliman Administration headed by President Dr. Ben S. Malayang III. The two had met formally in January this year at a meeting in Hong Kong among select Asian academic leaders which organized for Dr. Chapman early after her appointment as president.
Together with Dr. Chapman will be Dr. Betty Cernol-McCann, Vice President for Programs of and former Vice President for Academic Affairs of °Ç¸çºÚÁÏ.
Their visit to Silliman reinforces the significance of the long-standing relations of with the University. It also opens more opportunities of institutional partnership on issues of common interest.
Silliman has been a recipient of support from , including those for endowments and scholarships coursed through it by alumni and friends of the University.
Founded in 1922, is a Christian organization that works with higher education institutions in 13 countries in Asia. It funds initiatives in the areas of leadership and faculty development, and provides grants for projects that center around three topics: environment, interreligious understanding and peace building, and local knowledge.
